Who We Are

Our History

In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave the church, "The Great Commission," to make disciples of all nations. On October 5, 1941, our church was started as Barkers District Baptist Church by six individuals who had a passion to be faithful to the mission of Jesus. Their names were:

  1. Mr. L. G. Strickland
  2. Mrs. Hattie Strickland
  3. Linton Strickland, Jr.
  4. Mr. Horace Banister
  5. Mrs. Lois Banister
  6. Miss Caroline Whiteside

On May 10, 1942, the name of the church changed to Fairview Baptist Church. Over 75 years has pasted since the establishment of the church, but the passion of these founding members to be a disciple making church in the Lindale community continues on to this day.

Our Mission

"To Make Disciples who Make Disciples"

Our Strategy

1) Glorify God: In Weekly Worship

The first step is to Glorify God through Weekly Worship. At Fairview, every Sunday at 11:00AM we corporately gather to Glorify the Lord through authentic Worship and Biblical Preaching.

2) Gather Together (Weekly Sunday School)

The second step is to Gather Together in Sunday School.  We desire for every believer to be apart of a weekly Sunday School class where they can share life together with other believers as they study the Word of God.

3) Grow in Christlikeness (Grow Group)

The third step is to be a part of a Grow Group. A Grow Group is a group of 3-5 individuals who hold each other accountable to growing in your faith. In a Grow Group, you will learn to become a disciple and how to make disciples.

4) Go Make Disciples (Lead a Grow Group)

The final step is to lead a Grow Group. Through participating in a Grow Group, you will be equipped and empowered to make disciples.

Our Vision

"Restore our Community to and through Christ!"
